Chemical perms allow you to change the texture of your hair from light curls to strong frizz, as well as highlight the shape of the cut and add volume in specific areas.
Perms have made a comeback. New formulas with sugar derivatives or amino acids create much softer frizz and have less impact on the hair structure. Modern perms allow the creation of both small curls and rich spiral curls. However, chemical products will not give you a way to create rich, easy-to-fall waves. To put in perms, straight hair is wound quite tightly on small perm rollers (less than 2 cm in diameter) to get a wavy hair shape. When the hair dries, it creates frizz rather than soft waves. To create soft, flowing waves with perms, you will need to roll them on large curlers or style them with a large, round hairbrush.
